As a parent, you want to give your child the best possible journey through life. One way to do this is by writing a letter to your child for their future self. But rather than just writing a letter, why not record your voice too? This letter and recording will serve as a powerful reminder of your love and support for your child, and can help them navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Here are some tips for writing and recording a meaningful letter for your child's future self:

  1. Write from the heart: When writing the letter, speak from the heart. Let your child know how much they mean to you and how proud you are of them.

  2. Share your hopes and dreams: Write about your hopes and dreams for your child's future. Share your support and confidence for them for what you believe they can achieve and encourage them to pursue their passions.

  3. Offer words of wisdom: Share any wisdom or advice that you've gained from your own experiences. Let your child know that you're always there for them and that they can come to you for guidance.

  4. Talk about family traditions: Share family traditions and stories that have been passed down through generations. This will help your child feel connected to their family history and values.

  5. Record, Seal and store: Once you've finished writing the letter, record yourself reading it. Your voice is part of who you are and it is important to preserve. Seal the letter in an envelope and store it in a safe place. Make sure your child knows where to find it when they're ready to read it. Our Memory Boxes are perfect for preserving your voice.

Writing a letter and recording your voice for your child's future self is a wonderful way to show them how much you love and care for them. It can also serve as a source of inspiration and guidance as they navigate their own journey in life. So, take some time to sit down and write and record a letter to your child. It's a gift they'll cherish for years to come.

ABOUT US

Hi!  I'm John and I'm based here in Suffolk (UK).  I am passionate about helping people to record, preserve and celebrate their life stories.  Since 2015, I have helped people of all ages to record their personal stories. I believe that our voice is a unique and special part of who we are and therefore recording voices is an important part of preserving life memories.

My company, Chronicle, has been working in the UK since 2015, but our history goes back much further.  We have worked with countless people from all walks of life and of all ages to help preserve their stories and memories (our oldest participant was 101).  We also work with respected organisations such as the Suffolk Archives, local museums, and BT on story based community projects.

The idea for the Chronicle Memory Box arose as I continually explored new ways to allow people to preserve and enjoy their stories in a simple way.
