Ensuring Your Legacy: Preserve a Special Day?

John R

Updated: Apr 9, 2024

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easy to overlook the importance of insuring a legacy for our loved ones — just in case something unexpected happens to us. While we may diligently insure our homes, cars, and health, one aspect often gets neglected — the expression of our affection for those we love and, specifically, the unique character of our voice.

We make many of our Memory Boxes for people seeking to remember a loved one. But sadly, all too often the only recording they have of their voice is a poor recording or voice message, certainly not something that has been carefully considered.

So how do we create something meaningful but that we can easily do without getting anxious or overwhelemed at what to create? What if you could create a lasting meaningful treasure for your loved ones in just a matter of minutes?

Here’s how:

  1. Take a moment to think about someone special to you — a grandparent, partner, or friend — who holds a special place in your heart.

  2. Envision a special day together — where would you be? What activities would you do? How would you feel? What conversations would you have, what memories would you create?

  3. Grab your phone and record a heartfelt message for that person, sharing your thoughts, feelings, and memories. It doesn’t have to be long or elaborate — just genuine and from the heart. A couple of minutes is fine.

Done. Sleep a little more soundly tonight.

Believe me, that one simple recording is likely to become one of the most cherished possessions your loved one will ever have. It’s a tangible expression of your love, captured in your own voice, ready to comfort and console them when they need it most.

But hang on! Why stop there?

Consider taking it a step further by creating a Snapshot Memory Box — a beautiful keepsake that combines your recorded message with a meaningful photograph. At Chronicle Digital Storytelling, we specialize in crafting these heartfelt mementos, designed to evoke tears of joy and gratitude.

So, take a moment today to ensure your legacy of love. It only takes a few minutes, but the impact it will have on your loved ones is immeasurable.

Start preserving your memories now, because unfortunately, we never know what tomorrow holds.

Record your perfect day

ABOUT US

Hi!  I'm John and I'm based here in Suffolk (UK).  I am passionate about helping people to record, preserve and celebrate their life stories.  Since 2015, I have helped people of all ages to record their personal stories. I believe that our voice is a unique and special part of who we are and therefore recording voices is an important part of preserving life memories.

My company, Chronicle, has been working in the UK since 2015, but our history goes back much further.  We have worked with countless people from all walks of life and of all ages to help preserve their stories and memories (our oldest participant was 101).  We also work with respected organisations such as the Suffolk Archives, local museums, and BT on story based community projects.

The idea for the Chronicle Memory Box arose as I continually explored new ways to allow people to preserve and enjoy their stories in a simple way.

We are based in the UK.
